“Grave 33 from Eggersberg is exciting and intriguing! One of the two buried people lay with her arms folded in front of her, which is quite unusual.  Archaeologists have found this burial position, with arms folded in front, from other graves, especially from richly furnished tombs of women. The famous Pharaoh Tutankhamun was also found with his arms folded like this!  Was this lady from Eggersberg a ruler, a priestess or tribal leader? Perhaps the archaeologists discovered the tomb of a queen or princess! Her hands might have been tied though, and the ligatures rotted away. That opens up a very different range of possibilities – sacrifice? Punishment?”
